Which SC2 unit are you most looking forward to? Which unit do you want to use the most? Rate Topic: -----

now, obviously, this is a really hard decission and i'd rather put up a whole list of good combinations and tactics i've come up with just with the information available at present... but that would take ages.

Don't take this too seriously. Just pick a unit you like the look of!

I must say that the Viking and Baneling look like great fun... but i'm going to go with Colossus! There's just something about having a few really strong units slowly walking around killing everything that is so satisfying in RTS sometimes :P and the ability to walk up cliffs is going to give so many fun ambush opportunities and advantages vs some unit types. It will, however, be interesting to see how badly Colossus suffers from being hit from anti-air as well as anti-ground attacks. In SC you could see it having huge problems from cloaked wraiths or scouts which do quite a bit of damage to air... but without knowing as much about the stats of various units in SC2 it's hard to identify the main threats to Colossus from the air. Of course, on the ground, need to watch out for Siege Tanks! Colossus is bound to be heavy armor type which Siege's demolish in seconds. Banelings are probably a cheap way to take them down too.

Yeah, I think I might have to go with the Protoss Colossus as well! As much as I want a name a Zerg unit, I'm afraid this just looks and feels rather epic, quite typical of Protoss really. :D

I'm also looking forward, on a slighty lesser scale, to using the Protoss Phoenix, Terran Viking and Zerg's Banelings, Roaches, Overlords and Queen!

BCs are going to do more damage than carriers in SC2 :(

wouldn't that level things out a bit? for air units i mean because TvP in air was always not that good, because P could always counter anything terran in the air? :O

even still, while one race has better air units, others have better ground units etc :P u cnt always have everything leveled out. besides dan has beaten me with wraiths earlier XD while P, so shush.

Well it's all about how best to counter certain units. you're still in your one-dimensional way of thinking. Of course P air is good, P everything is better than everyone elses units in 1v1 in most cases but it also costs more. Everything evens out. Sure Scouts do more damage than wraiths, but they cost a hell of a lot more and take a lot longer to build. Carrier might be better than BC but a few Valkyries would make a HUGE difference... then there's EMP. Science Vessel pretty much beats all P. Just get Valks + a vessel and Carriers suddenly become a very managable problem to deal with.

and like typh says... there's always goliaths.

The other thing is: So much else has changed that even if there were imbalances in SC they wouldn't transfer over into SC2.

hardly a valid point when he had upgraded all his wraiths to level 3 in everything, when you were still on 1's + 2's, and you had less units than him by far. you also had mass resources, like i do, and still didn't do upgrades :P seems like you have my aura ;) the only valid point you gave was about the ground units. :P

protoss upgrades cost more, take longer to upgrade AND make more difference. so your point is hardly a valid one there :P the main point was that he couldn't SEE the wraiths.

if ground and air can attack a unit what happens when a unit could attack both for example the wraith - does it do anti air which does lots of dmg or anti ground which does next to none.

got to say im looking forward to the reaper, got to love the jet packs also like the fact they are "harderned terran criminals, taken from the most dangours and violant prisions."

i like the fact sc2 seems to have become very much terrain based maps, only problems is that most maps are the buggiest part of games when they are first released.

Got to say i seem quite dissapointed in the protoss changes, loss of dragoons, reavers and high templars (i know some have alternatives) means thats its no longer the team i loved. still without having played it i cant judge and say i wont grow to love the changes.

It will use the more damaging attack.

it got to the point where i need more info on either how the units works or a beta/demo to try them myself =( doesnt look likley.

Funny, looking back on this topic, that Tennek keeps saying about carriers and they have turned out to be SO good xD

Has anyone's favourite unit varied much compared to what they've said earlier in this topic? I'm pretty sure colossus is my fave unit but I also love the way the new BC fires lots of shots instead of just one AND the yamato animation is :wub:
