As some noticed, patching was available for SC2 last night but the battle.net servers were down for gameplay. This should no longer be the case.

Everyone still involved in the tourny is banned from playing unless they get their tourny matches done though... (BEASTIE...)

I fired up the random number generator and here's the match list! If anyone in the 8 player list doesn't want to participate we'll either just replace them or give default victory to the other player. I've probably made some mistake somewhere but here goes:

Register up hobos! I don't wanna hear no pansy "but i'm no good" shizz... there's probably a fair number of players on here of all skills and you won't know where you place until you try it. Playing better people is the only way anyone is gonna get anywhere!

For anyone who'd prefer to do something other than sit watching boring movies (I assume there's nothing good on again this year) that the rest of their family has already fallen asleep over.

I'm available before 09:00, maybe as late as 09:30 (i'll check that later) and maybe a bit of time between 11:30 and whenever food is ready. Then available most of the afternoon and evening.

as if winning a 2v3 with no gas wasn't crazy enough... then went on to play a match practically 1v2 against J and bronze TvZZ which lasted an hour and a half xD so much killing and deaths all over the place. CRAZY.

great day of SC! some interesting matches... some win tactics and most of all a lot of fun.

Shame you didn't win any games bronze xD keep up the cockiness

KSCT discussion: races

So who's thinking of playing just one race in order to focus their efforts in an attempt to get better results? I know that quite a few have weak races and some only play one race. Maybe you want to comment on what you think other people's best races are and why... maybe you don't want to say your plans for the tourny to keep an element of surprise.

Generally playing random gives you a slight advantage IF you're playing against someone who's chosen their race. You can decide on a tactic and implement it without them knowing what to expect at all (if they don't scout you). then again, playing as just 1 race gives you the chance to perfect it. So which is more useful in the end? All comes down to your knowledge of the game methinks

Ok, so we all know Knit will play Z. It's been a very long time since i remember him playing any other race. There's a few things you can expect from Knit.... but he's not going to ALWAYS use the same tactic.

Bronze is playing random a lot more recently... he used to play Z only but we'll have to see if he's confident enough to reveal his plans for this one. He's been doing quite well as P too. I'm not sure on his best or worst race atm... but is he confident enough with all 3 to go random?

I've not played with tennek, deon, typh or garry recently and have no idea what they'll do... enlighten me!

I'm considering only playing one race... as yet undecided so theres not much point asking which. I'm not sure of which my best has been recently and my two shakey performances recently were not the same race.

Crashin would probably want P... but I he seems to go random anyways most of the time

Crashin vs Typhoon: I'd probably have said this is likely to be the closest match to call when the matches were first decided. Crashin has a mean zealot rush which Typh may have problems dealing with but if he does, he will probably win it. I've seen plenty of examples of Typh not handling rushes well but he should know what to expect this time so who knows! I'm not sure how much Typh has been playing recently, he's not been on much but when I have seen him I think he's said he's been playing some singleplayer. Crashin has played a bit of multiplayer... so we'll see!

Deonilin vs Knit: History says that Deon should win this quite easily: He's been to two finals in previous KSCT's and won one of them. He's also never lost to Knit in tournaments. Knit, on the other hand, has improved a lot and has been playing a lot more recently methinks. Will his freshness aid him? Will he want to win enough?

Bronze vs Garry: Well I thought Bronze would get trampled by Garry no questions asked... but pre-tournament games have been won by both sides so this could turn out to be an interesting one. I expect that Garry might choose race rather than risk random and getting a race he will be beaten at.

Emerald vs Tennek: Tennek hasn't been taking advice on well or practicing enough to be honest... and when he reads this he'll be liek "i'm never gonna win" instead of actually trying to give it a go. I've been shaken up in matches recently against two people and now seems to be the best time to play me if you're looking to get a result.

People may consider this tourny as already decided... i've not lost to anyone here in 1v1 since knit beat me... and he hasn't managed it in over 20 games since (i think?). But like i said: i've had close calls recently and people have improved a lot. Hopefully you lot will shake this "can't win, won't even try" attitude and put in some practice. I'm happy to teach some people a few things as long as they're going to listen.

Either way this is going to be the best KSCT yet
