Well, since some of you don't know probably ... our guild disbanned because our MT quit wow and we lost two others to jumping, so our very nice run with progression and teamwork ended and we were left pretty much on our own to find a new guild.

I applied X-Relm to a M'uru guild, and got in

We downed M'uru last week, and tried KJ ... and it was amazing

We got him to lowest I think was 71% but not bad for a first day of wiping

We killed Kael'thas ... Archimonde ... and even Illidan was not prepared !

Bits happened over the past few weeks, some good some bad. But these fights were amazing ... and if you don't plan personally seeing the Illidan fight u really should watch a youtube video or something of it ... its amazingly epic feeling.

Well here is another update for those who care

We've been clearing Hyjal 4/5 every week since the 2nd week after 2.4.0 came out and we're actively pursuing an Archy kill !

In Black Temple we're 4/9 with Shade, Blood Boil and Gorefiend downed

Heres our best try on Archy thus far (this monday) ... 36% ... we keep getting closer, just such a matter of total concentration 1 person out of 25 has a moments lapse and its wipe ... we're gonna get there tho I have no doubt

And the dps meter for said run ... I finished as a strong 2nd

Well, a bit has happened since last I posted so here's and update.

Cleared the T4's and been doing some raiding in T5 25 man raids

Up through Leotheras in SSC and upto Al'ar in TK

I'm full epic Retrodin, and have a few SSC / TK epics among 'em

And after 12 days of doing dailies for netherwing and doing a bit of mining I've earned my Onyx Netherdrake, so heres a pic of that

Been a lvl 70 for just over a month and finally got to go Kara as dps

This is my second run through kara (I was tankadin my first run with a mate and his guild and got to OT Midnight / Moroes / Kil'rek / and Netherspite)

Was well win...

And who said a Retribution Paladin can't dps ? and that is competing against a rogue / feral druid / shadow priest / and 2 huntards

Only 1 wipe on Maiden and after Curator the healer needed to sleep b/c the nubcake had a quiz in the morning

10 mans or at least Kara is about 100x more exciting than 5 man heroics and 1000x more exciting than 5man normal instances to be sure

To start of with my main Lightraiden ofcourse, which has over 66days on level 70. Top right corner you can see his total time played .

Just a screenie of my pvp gear, 2 parts are tweaked for pve though, cause i'm more pve than pvp.

and Darkraiden, 21days played total.

Just a screenie of the frozen shadoweave set, should be getting spellstrike quite soon. The rest of it's gear is quite crap though.

Strength or Agility ?!?

I composed this opus while trying to figure out whether I should get +Strength enchants or +Agility enchants on my level 29 twink. I've read in several places that +Strength is more beneficial to Paladins and Warriors, while +Agility is more beneficial to Druids and Rogues. However, I also read that people shouldn't calculate a paladin's dps like a rogue, and that the burst damage that makes Paladins own so very much more than every other class in pvp needs to be treated differently than finding overall dps.

From my large amount of calculating ... I've found the following results. (Scroll Down for CONCLUSION plz )

(all calculations are with my lvl 28 Paladin as its much easier to calculate crit %, and because I just haven't leveled to 29 yet )
(although if there is any interest I could recalculate this when I am full skilled 29)

@ level 28 with full 145 weapon skill

1 agility = +0.1 % Crit Chance and +0.1% Dodge Chance
So 10 Agility = +1% Crit +1% Dodge

Max +Crit Chance from enchants
1.2+1.5+2.12+0.7= +5.52% Crit Chance
Therefore about 17.23% Crit is max I could have with planned gear.

Max Stamina from enchants
10+10+9+40+7= +760 Health

Max Strength from enchants
9+7= +16 

Max AP from enchants
18+14+50= +82
Therefore +5.86 dps is max

My Attack

	+1842.38 over no crit +866.64 over current crit

Damage per 100 hits with Max Str enchants

182.525 x 66.72 + 358.38 x 11.71 = 16374.698
	+963.93 over Max crit

 (148 + 176) / 2 = 162

162 / 3.5 = 46.29 dps on weapon

+5.86 dps max

X / 3.5 = 52.15  therefore average dmg = 182.525

162 is to 319 as 182 is to
162/319 = 182/x	  x = 182 (319/162) = 358.38


Damage per 10 hits

162 x 6.672 + 319 x 1.171 = 1454.413

Damage per 10 this with Max Crit enchants

162 x 6.12 + 319 x 1.723 = 1541.077
	+86.664 over current crit

Damage per 10 hits with Max Str enchants

182.525 x 6.672 + 358.38 x 1.171 = 1637.4698
	+183.0568 over current +96.393 over Max crit

So for roughly 10 hits, 7 hits are for 162, 1 is for 319, and 2 are lost hits, equaling 1453
For roughly 10 hits with max crit, 6 hits are for 162, 2 are for 319, and 2 are lost, equaling 1610
For roughly 10 hits with max str, 7 hits are for 183, 1 is for 358, 2 lost equaling 1639

CONCLUSION:

So because either 7 out of 10 hits or at most 6 out of 10 hits are going to be Ordinary hits, it makes a lot of sense to increase your Strength as well as your Agility, as most of your damage will come from your Ordinary damage which is only increased through Attack Power. Also, since most hits that have a chance for a critical strike are also affected by your AP calculation, it is clear that at this level maximizing your Strength and AP is far more important than maximizing your Crit Chance. Even when we take it down to a mere 10 hits, which most likely will be needed to take down a good opponent, you get a much smaller increase that strength gives you, but it is still +39 damage for every time you give 10 hits out. So with every individual fight, it is better to have the AP than having the Crit chance for warriors and paladins. While it might be pleasing to see, those high crit % are just not as useful as the extra damage per swing and ability you get from the strength enchants.

Plz comment, whether it be "ur calculations are bonk gief 5th grade maths lesson !" or "oh, yeh well I knew AP was more important than crit % anyways duh"

Just out of interest of talking about nothing in perticular, well anyway appareantly WoW has a specific design in it that keeps you interested FOREVER

This is basically the give up design, what it does is once youve been playing for quite along time and you feel all hope is lost and you will never get to the next level or your bored or about to give up anyway, at that point of certain give up ness you move up a level and this makes you go oooo

i like so instead of giving up you PLAY MORE!!!! dun dun DUN
